GENEALOGY.
My paternal grandfather Akella.v.Satyanarayana Row was a jamindhar(landlord) of gantavanipalem(kasimkota) anakapalli, owning huge tracks of cultivable lands and many mango grooves. He was adopted by one Sri Akella kameswara Rao hailing from konaseema, who grew rich doing opium trade and acquired lands etc., At gantavanipalem and shifted there, he was childless, he adopted my paternal grandfather Akella.v.Satyanarayana Row who became the owner of all the property on his demise at gantavanipalem. In fact my grandfather's biological parents were residents of veeravalli-vaddadi chodavaram (Vskp), Akella.v.Satyanarayana Row 's foster father had a brother suryanarayana rao akella, a well known and leading advocate at Vskp residing opposite prabhat cinema hall (now defunct) on the main road. Late Tenneti Viswanadham was a maternal uncle of suryanarayana rao. Consecutive to the implementation of tenancy act my grandfather was forced to leave gantavanipalem and shift his residence to kukalametta Lakshmi puram (K L puram), vizianagaram by which time fortunately two of his three sons completed their graduation in flying colours from M R college vizianagaram got employment and were also married, all three daughters were also married by that time, thus when he shifted to K L puram he had no responsibilities as such. He studied only up to matriculation but was good at English, he spent his time helping needy in their litigant affairs, organise bhajans at local Rama temple and played cards with the people at K L puram during leisure time. He died at the age of 66 at my eldest aunt's residence (Tanikella's house) jaganadhapuram at Vskp on 2nd may 1968, by that time I successfully completed my BA(Hons) from andhra university. UNDER TANIKELLA'S UMBRELLA. My grandfather had three sons and three daughters, the eldest subhadra was married into an affluent family (Tanikella's) from belgum parvathipuram, her husband sarveswara somayajulu after the loss of his father had to look after the lands etc., Owned by them, they had a son (venkata SATYANARAYANARAO) when their son was about 10 years of age, somayajulu left the home suddenly and didn't turn up. Perforce my aunt with her son had to be shifted to stay with us at K L puram. SATYANARAYANARAO studied in vizianagaram till his matriculation, being the only son of my aunt and only child in the family, with his father being away he was very much pampered by one and all, he was gentle by nature and innocent but couldn't concentrate on his studies studies to show remarkable outcome ( by that time neither of my other two married aunts had any children) thus they were taken care by my father at vizianagaram. Tanikella's had two mansions in gurachari vari street in vizianagaram which were rented by somayajulu during his time. The tenants were neither paying rents regularly nor they were ready to vacate the house. They had illegal designs to own the buildings, taking advantage of the absence of somayajulu. They also had lands in kostam village near S.kota which were under the cultivation of tenant Ryot's, my grandfather assessing the situation initiated litigation and succeeded in getting one of them vacate the house and the other was ready to purchase it so the houses in vizianagaram were sold and with that money it was decided to purchase house at Visakhapatnam for my aunt and her son. Akella's were staying at vizianagaram( k l puram) in the house of my father's maternal grandfather's. Akella's owned no house any where at that time after their flight from gantavanipalem thus akella and Tanikella's shifted to 45-38-18 jaganadhapuram near dondaparti Visakhapatnam in 1948 .My second aunt suryakantham was frequently ill and her husband Vadapalli Ramarao was employed in railways. My third aunt ramanama with her husband Ramana Murthy with their only son were at bheemvaram where her husband was a deputy inspector for schools. In 1948 at jaganadhapuram in addition to my aunt's subhadrama and her son, my parents with their two sons and two daughters, my grandparents, my second aunt because of her illness she and her husband Vadapalli Ramarao were all under one roof at jaganadhapuram along with my grandmother's widowed hapless younger sister ramudu was also living with us frequently we had our relatives visiting.
My father's younger brother jaganadha rao was at that time working as a sub post master in rajam. My father an NGO sr.inspector of cooperative societies was supporting the family single handedly with his meagre salary, luckily he was required to go on tours often on office duty that augmented his earnings, after sometime when my eldest aunt's son SATYANARAYANARAO failed to clear matriculation after many attempts, through the efforts of my second aunt he could be placed as a lab assistant in the statham labs (chemistry) andhra university, subsequently my elder sister was married to SATYANARAYANARAO
My postmaster uncle jaganadha rao from time to time extended financial assistance to my father to run the show
