It is almost five days that we have a minority govt at centre resorting to several far reaching measures. The silence of Pranab in not asking singh to get fresh letters of support from SP etc in view of their conflicting announcements is ASTOUNDING!

Amartya Sen in his book"The Argumentative Indian" refers to V K Krishna Menon's nine hour long marathon speech in the UN General Assembly, a record that remained unequalled anywhere to date. How I wish If we could have a transcript or recorded tape of that speech available?

Saw the above movie today.it could be a SHORT FILM than a full length movie.the theme is relevant to the present generation.though the direction is good,it can't be seen in a theatre  VISWAKSENA  is a talented budding actor whom I wish to see him soon  in a full length commercial  movie.Director Mohammad  Ali deserves congrats for the neat take that too at a pea-nut budget and not utilising any props to enhance it's saleability.dil Raju has shown his penchant for a different movies of high quality .kudos to Dil Raju.             .........almohan 21092017.

The Monks Story
Shantanu Gupta's "The Monk Who Became Chife Minister" is a Definitive biography of hindutva than yogi adityanath. In a compelling narrative Gupta portrayed the incidents that led to catapulting yogi to cm gaddi.
Since independence,vote-bank secularism, appeasing minorities was practised by Congress party.Love-jihad and it's implications, was authentically described. It is high time, secularism is redefined, bereft of appeasing .minorities and sidelining the majority religion.Bloomsbury's publication of this book is timely.
For liberals of left thinking reading this book, would be an EYE-OPENER.

  1. Preachers
We are witnessing utter chaos after the arrest of ram raheem.it is high time we ,including specially politicians and gullible educated public refrain from entertaining babas ,whoever they may be ( including srisri ravishankar, isha foundation guru, kalki bhagwan avtar, yoga gurus).

  1. Teachers day and ganesh chaturthi. It has become a ritual to celebrate T--day in memory of dr sarvepalli.it is ironic that nearly ninety percent t...eachers remain means for transporting info from books (limited of their choice) to students and driving them to score higher and higher ranks without caring for their
intrinsic creative abilities .commercialisation of education from kg to pg has resulted in this unfortunate situation.if only we give up these token acts of celebrations and initiate steps to make the teachers imbibe the qualities of dr sarvepalli such as simplicity.tolerance and oratory skills with knowledge.it wpld be a fitting tribute to him.
As regards ganesh,we are making a mockery.when we look at ganesh photo greetings it is like a fancy dress competition.it is a religious function to be ferformed at home.long back lokamanya tilak made the festival a means to arouse national feelings and opposition to the then foreign rulers .it has now become a commercial activity, collecting donations, erecting huge pandals obstructing movement on roads, playing latest filmygeet round the ciock disturbing all, auctioning laddus ,creating law and order problem for police, little sanctity remains in performing the Puja except distribution of prasadam.I wish this be made more sensible by prohibiting celebrations in public and restrict it to ones home as a part of SWATCHA BHRAT!

  1. New Delhi: Uttarakhand education minister Arvind. Pandey visited a government school recently turned the Mathematics and Chemistry upside down.
  2. The minister in the BJP-led state government paid a surprise visit to Dehradun's Mahila Inter College on Monday this week. Pandey entered a class in which a female teacher was teaching science. Since the minister was in the college to inspect the quality of education in government-run schools, he thought of asking a question or two ...of the teacher.
  3. He picked up chalk and duster, walked up to the board, and wrote (-) + (-) = 'what'. The teacher said the answer was (-). But the minister was in no mood to concede grounds, claiming that the answer to his question was (+), adding, "I have also studied science".
  4. According to Pandey, (-) + (-)= (+) in mathematics but (-) in Chemistry, a theory he seems to have propounded on his own. Another official, accompanying the minister, maintained a strategic silence, though perhaps realizing minister's folly.
  5. However, Pandey was least bothered by the correct response of the teacher. He sat in a chair, raised his finger, and endeavoured to draw his point once again home. Before leaving the classroom, he warned the teacher, "I am sparing you because you are a woman

recently i had gone to gmr degree college to interact with the faculty (08sep2012) on the invitation of dr kva naidu principal of the college.
am xpected to highlight the differences in perceiving the teachers role now and in the past.
when i joined as teacher of maths at mrs avn college vizag in 1959,society,students etc had appreciation and respect for a teacher.it was not just a job but we used to feel that we are serving the society that was appreciated.teacher had ego... of his own and his word accepted and honored without any hesitation.no way to question one's teacher.
today the situation is totally different.the corporate colleges only pay handsome salaries for its teachers.aided college teachers are paid ugc scale pay ,considerably high in contrast together with several sops.
teachers in unaided colleges not only get meager salaries but also no other benefits.consequently they remain frustrated.
thus they perform their duties in trying circumstances
however, as they have joined on their free will, they need to redefine their role in tune with the changing scenario.
i suggested that::.
1.they cant have the bloated ego that the teachers of yore had and acquire humility in dealing with the students of this generation.
2.avoid value judgement of the students on one's observation in his class or performance in his subject or poor attendance.instead. become a counselor and mentor for such students who do not impress you.
3.do not expect all the students(who have access to latest knowledge info than his teacher) to accept you as the BEST and give scope for you to improve and meet the xpectations of your pupils.
4.society may not consider your work and recognise your contribution .you draw your own measures to ascertain your attempts to serve the community.
5.mindset of a teacher needs to be changed to suit the times in which he lives.
40 min xposition by me was followed by scintillating q & a session for 80 min.

Called on Jnanpith Awardee Dr.Ravuri Bharadwaja today at Hyderabad. He has signed today agreement for getting pakudu rallu into English. I felt happy that now non-telugu people of India also will know the greatness of pakudu rallu and its author. Dr.Bhardwaja got this award after Dr.Viswanadha Satyanarayana and Dr.C.Narayana Reddy. He should have got it long back. For a period of three decades, Telugus did not earn Jnanpith. I am happy that he got it at least now.
