HISTORIC PRIME MINISTER.
When I look back on the political arena  since independence,  I could identify only one person among those who adorned the office of pm,whose courageous decision ushered the social engineering that changed the political landscape of India,driving the congress born
 out of freedom struggle to an insignificant corner.
He is none other than the raja of manda,Viswanath Pratap Singh, an honest and upright person who courageously took out Mandal commissions recommendations. ,lying dormant and implemented that gave rise to anointing backward class people to come up inn the political firmament which was till that time dominated by forward castes in all parties.he did it at the cost of his office and never dabbled in politics later and remained a recluse.               
Modi says he is a fakir but dies not have the guts to nab the black money holders from his own party
V P Singh had the tenacity to swim against the waters  and had no hesitation to dig out Bofors scandal.
He remains a forgotten hero of post independent era .

Male singers

There have been many female singers (telugu) in the recent past but not a single male singer worthy of mention.The reason could be that parents send their girl child early to music learning and no male child intends to go for learnig music, being preoccupied with studies in coaching centres.It is a pity! We may not have a singer in telugu a-la SPB for a long time to come.

PARVA

PARVA-Dr K L Bhyrappa. (Translated into Telugu by Sri Gangisetty Laxminarayana)
It is a Master Piece of Dr Bhyrappa.
Mahabharata,retold with a different perception backed by research findings of the author visiting the places dwelled by Pandavas across the lenght and breadht of Bharat Varsha and data collected from manuscripts.
The technic in narrating the story is crisp and captivating.
Reading PARVA gives us a new meaning to life.beliefs and traditions.
Parva supplements the epic we know in appreciating it fully.

Some Reflections.
Apropos the fb post "Education is Strategic",let me recall that visionary prime ministers ,Nehru  and  Rajiv Gandh, in the past ,without their partys concurrence or appreciation of their vision,
 inspired by     by the western countries progress and ignited by socialistic and welfare outlook.(,Nehru) steadfastly pursued establishing higher educational institutions such as iits ,national resarch labs etc that would make India self sufficient and compete with advanced countries and Rajiv Gandhi goaded us to be tech-savy and introduced learning through computers.in this effort ,Congress party remained sceptical except pv narasimharao as  HRD minister,who gave a shape to Rajivs vision through National Education Policy in 1986.Tenures of the remaining prime ministers of India was plateful of vote-bank and caste based and religion based divisive politics and attempts to stick to power by hook or crook,without any VISION.They have also shamelessly brought the system to a stage of ineffectiveness and corrupted the establishment.Even if we may have a visionary PM now or in future,I doubt if he will be allowed by  the establishment to translate his vision ,as  happened to Rajiv, as politics and politicians of the day have become MURKIER .!!!!!!!

jAGAN'S ARREST AT THIS TIME IS ILL-MOTIVATED AND UNWISE  AS THE INVESTIGATION IS GOING ON FOR MORE THAN NINE MONTHS AND THE SKIES ARE NOT GOING TO FALL IF IT IS DONE AFTER THE BYE ELECTIONS.JAGN GREW WEALTHY WITH THE CONNIVANCE  OF HIS DAD'SCABINET COLLEAGUES AND INDUSTRIALISTS WHO ARE PRONE TO BRIBE POLITICAL MASTERS.CONGRESS HIGH COMMAND THAT GAVE A FREE HAND TO LATE YSR WHO MUST HAVE FILLED THEIR COFFERS AS WELL CANNOT BE ABSOLVED OF THEIR CULPABILITY.

Faculty Interaction- GMR College,RAJAM

recently i had gone to gmr degree college to interact  with the faculty (08sep2012) on the invitation of dr kva naidu principal of the college.
am xpected to highlight the differences in perceiving the teachers role  now and in the past.
when i joined as teacher of maths at mrs avn college vizag  in 1959,society,students etc had appreciation and respect for a teacher.it was not just a job but we used to feel that we are serving the society that was appreciated.teacher had ego of his own and his word accepted and honored without any hesitation.no way to question one's teacher.
today the situation is totally different.the corporate colleges only pay handsome salaries for its teachers.aided college teachers are paid ugc scale pay ,considerably high in contrast together  with several sops.
teachers in unaided colleges  not only get meager salaries but also no other benefits.consequently they remain frustrated.
thus they perform their duties in trying circumstances
however, as they have joined  on their free will,they need to redefine their role in tune with the changing scenario.
i suggested that::.
1.they cant have the bloated ego that the teachers of yore had and acquire humility in dealing with the students of this generation.
2.avoid value judgement of the students on one's observation in his class or performance in his subject or poor attendance.instead. become a counselor and mentor for such students who do not impress you.
3.do not expect all the students(who have access to latest knowledge info than his teacher) to accept you as the BEST and give scope for you to improve and meet the xpectations of your pupils.
4.society may not consider your work and recognise your contribution .you draw your own measures to ascertain your attempts to serve the community.
5.mindset of a teacher needs to be changed to suit the times in which he lives.
40 min xposition by me was followed by scintillating q & a session  for 80 min.
